Question: Mother's Day flowers didn't arrive.?

Question : Mother's Day flowers didn't arrive.?
I wired flowers to my 89 year old mother, for mother's day, to be delivered yesterday (Sat), to CA. (I'm in Idaho.) She was home all day, in and out, checking for them. They never arrived. I called the florist this morning and they checked on it, called back, and said they were delivered at 7:55 last night. What can I do? $50.00 for flowers that never arrived. It's their word against ours. The lady I talked to said they have no guarantee, like if someone in the neighborhood stole them or something. Do I have any recourse? To answer some questions: It was Duncan's Florist, here where I live, that I ordered from and paid cash. I don't know what forist in CA they wired the order to. They said they were left outside because no one answered the door to sign for them. My mom was home and said no one came to the door. And no, she is not hard of hearing, in case you were wondering. She hears better than I do. LOL(Later Sunday) Good news! The flowers were delivered to someone else yesterday, but my Mom got the other lady's flowers this morning. My Mom called her and they made the exchange. Since they both reported earlier that they didn't get their flowers, the florist sent another bouquet to each of them. So they both ended up with 2 vases of flowers each! It all ended well. Thanks for your nice replies. ;-)
