Question : Wedding Flower Ideas?
I am getting married in August in NC. My color is sage green. Any ideas on types of flowers or colors to use? Also, any ideas on how to cut cost on flowers or any other aspects of the wedding?Thank you.

What I would do is..... call around and get an appointment, then go and tell her your favorite color and look. If you don't like any or thier too much, do the same thing!(again!) :D

Silk flowers-at least some of them. Colors with sage are endless. How about lilac for pop. Coral, periwinkle...try to go with something different than the usual.

If I pulled up the color right, it is almost the same color that my bridesmaid wore...our wedding was in July and since we were staying with simple, we had daisies...multiple colors for the maid of honor and bridesmaid bouquets...and then white, pale yellow, and a little green in my bouquet...all matched perfectly...And to save cost on your bouquets...you can always opt to sit down and have some fun before your wedding...go to Wal-Mart or Michael's or some crafts store and buy a bunch of artificial flowers...make your own bouquets (its really not that hard) and then you don't have to worry about your flowers looking droopy or wilted, and you can save your bouquet and it still look as pretty as it was on your wedding day. Something else to add a touch of elegance if you do make your own bouquets is to get a sheer shimmery ribbon to match dresses...or have it to match one of the colors in the bouquets and also get the little pearls to add to your bouquet...wish I knew how to attach some pictures so you can get an idea of what I did...As a matter of fact, we spent right at $1000 for our wedding...it was very simple, very relaxed, our guests really enjoyed it, and most of all, my husband and I enjoyed it...almost everything that we bought was from Wal-Mart, Micheal's, and Sam's (for the clear "plastic" plates that you see so often at showers and weddings)...Good luck!! And remember to have fun!

You'll have lots of fun matching sage, just remember to not use too much greenery in the bouquets! Gerbera daisies come in bright striking colours which would look great - pink, yellow, orange, red. Carns come in all sorts of colours, lillies, - the list is endless. Do some looking online and go to different floral shops for ideas.

Cost cutting will almost rule out fresh. Check into high QUALITY silks. Then the florist you pick should go over flower with you. A common myth is that your color has to be in your flowers. NO, they do need to compliment. You can accent your bouquet with the sage. Choose a florist you are comfortable with.
