Question: Flowers in Grocery and at Florist?

Question : Flowers in Grocery and at Florist?
Why is that when you buy flowers from local grocery store they are about $10-$15 dozen, and if you wanna buy online/florist they are about $50 and up...what is the difference? or just rip off?

When you buy on-line, or through a florist, you are paying for the convenience and service of them doing it for you. Grocery stores are cash and carry when it comes to floral items, so the prices are more reasonable.

Answer #2
When you buy online, more than likely you are also having them delivered. Plus the fact that the internet is a convenient (albeit more expensive) tool. I buy flowers all the time over the internet cause I live far away from my family. It is an option but not always the best choice for people wanting to save money.

Answer #3
It's totally OK to buy flowers for a grocery store. They may be a little less fresh than the florists' flowers, but just pull off the wilted petals and put a fresh vertical cut in the stem. Put them in luke warm water and sprinkle a little sugar in the water. They are just as pretty and much less expensive! Buy flowers from the floral department, not the pre-arranged ones throughout the store.
